Visit my Shedquarters, there's creative stuff and beer!
Derbyshire Open Arts has been going for around 35 years now, I remember picking up one of the fancy trail brochures after going swimming, so I can't believe that I'm going to be taking part in Derbyshire Open Arts and opening my CRZyBest Shedquarters as part of the trail!
It'll actually be the second time I've taken part in Derbyshire Open Arts and I'm really looking forward to welcoming visitors to my garden studio, affectionately known as my CRZyBest Shedquarters. I hope the weather will be kind to us all on the trail, as a bit of sunshine and a dry day always helps to showcase our work, whether that is paintings, ceramics, photography, textiles, glass or in my case, tiny metal clay sculptures. | promise that my CRZyBest pink bar that you can see in bits, in this photo, will be all set up by the time you visit. You will also be able to ask any questions you have about my work, creative process or running a business as a sole trader, whilst having a look around my workspace, that is usually appointment only!
Visit the Derbyshire Open Arts website for loads of information, you can even create your very own trail to follow around Derbyshire. This year, I'm number 54 on the trail and one of only a few creatives brave enough to open their home studios, right near Derby City Centre, so please support us and come have a nosey at what we do in our very own home or garden studios. With around 200 creatives all around Derbyshire it's sure to be a fantastic Bank Holiday Weekend, celebrating the Arts all around our wonderful county!
In or nearby Derby City Centre, you will also find:
Also within a 30 minute drive, you will find a variety of other venues, including Sudbury Gasworks, where there are six artists exhibiting together, including Sue Quinby and Stef Trethowen, as well as a lovely woodland walk!
I'm going to keep this blog live over the Derbyshire Open Arts weekend, so that I can keep you updated with a sort of diary of happenings from my CRZyBest Shedquarters, so please pop back to see what's going on. Feel free to get in touch if you have a question before you visit.
Opening times are 10am-4pm Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th and Monday 27th May 2024 look out for a free brochure to pick up and all venues are free entry.
